Twitter

First time I signed up I was like, ok, this is another great way to waste time! But actually I’ve discovered it’s a great tool for communication and connection. If you haven’t a clue what I’m on about, Twitter is the latest ‘thing’, it’s a new form of micro-blogging, think of it like adding Facebook, blogging and SMS together, the result would be Twitter.
One fantastic thing about Twitter is you can follow updates from Hillsong, as well from Ps Brian & Bobbie, Ps Andreas & Lina, plus many others. It’s a great way to get the latest on what’s happening all around the world in church. I’ve been so inspired by some of Ps Brians posts recently, the other day he posted this:

“Great churches are not defined by music or preaching. They’re built on God and people. Preaching and worship connect us to God and His plans.”

Wow! We just had a meeting with some of the team leaders in church, and Eric read this out. Stuck everything right into perspective, which is always good! It’s always gotta be God-focused and people aimed. It was so great tonight, seeing leaders focused, excited and determined with what’s been placed in their hands, with the goal that what we do, what we give and what we build toward, provides a platform for people to meet, connect with, and be blown away by an incredible Father in heaven! What a privilege and honour it is to serve!

Have a great rest of the week!

ps. www.twitter.com to get an account… I’ll warn you though.. it is addictive!!

True Generosity

At church the theme of this month is generosity. And I have experienced generosity tonight!
Jenny, a dear friend of mine, spent one hour one the train to come home to us after work, and another hour on the way home. When she came she read books for Selina Jo, did the dishes, played horse (poor her, crawled around on the floor “eating grass” to Selina’s joy and excitement), put little Angelina to sleep… and everything with a smile on her face. And I had just invited her to come and hang out, have some food and drink some tea..!
Lovely to have such friends! Who generously give their time and energy without even being asked. Who just looks for an opportunity to bless someone else without expecting anything in return.
Thank you honey! You are a blessing!

London

What a great couple of days. I have catched five flights and done 6 speaking sessions since saturday. I’ve been in Stavanger, Norway. Malmo, Sweden and arrived this morning to London. I’m spending a few days with Pastor Brian, Pastor Gary, Nick & Chris Caine and Darren Kitto. I love being around Brian, he is so full of vision and are so set on building the church and advance the Kingdom of God. There is so much opportunities ahead and I can’t wait to grow, learn and become a better leader and pastor so we can be all we are called to be and do all we are called to do in Stockholm. I can’t wait for next Sunday, I’m gonna be on fire and can’t wait to see you!

Leadership Vision Night.

Tomorrow is gonna be a great day. We have Leadership Vision Night for the first time as Hillsong Church Stockholm. We have so much to look back on the past few months, and I think it’s so important to pause and celebrate all the great things God is doing and listen to all the testimonies. But we also have so much vision for the future that we want to tell you about. Pastor Brian always says "The best is yet to come" . It really is, because God is totally busy with the future!

Don’t miss the opportunity to come along tomorrow night at 7pm in Elim Church. Maybe you have been apart of Church since we started or maybe you are brand new to the Church. Tomorrow you can find out more about the vision and the future of Hillsong in Stockholm and the awesome roll you can play in seeing all God has for us come alive.

Straight after we will watch Inter Milano vs Manchester United. Like I said, it’s gonna be a great night.

Hope to see everyone there!

Love, love, love!

The other day I saw a book at the store with the title: “When Love is not enough”… I instantly wanted to write a book myself and put next to it: “Love IS enough”! Not my love or my own strength, but the love of God. God’s love is enough! When we run out of ideas He can change the most impossible situations with His love. I have seen it, and I keep seeing it again and again. I actually heard an example of it this week from a friend!

I guess, me writing a new book wouldn’t help much. The Book is already written. It is much more effective if we all show people in our world God’s love through our lives. And lead people to Him. Then people will see for themselves that Love IS enough! God’s love is.

If you feel like you don’t have enough love by yourself, that’s ok, because God is more than willing to give you some of His! Just open up to Him, and you will never need to feel like you “run out” of love or strength, because He keeps filling you up.

For I am convinced that neither death nor life,
neither angels nor demons,
neither the present nor the future,
nor any powers,
neither height nor depth,
nor anything else in all creation,
will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
(Romans 8:38-39)

How encouraging!!

All my love to you!

What are you living for?

Yesterday I preached from Ephesians 1:11-12 from the Message. "It’s in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for…"

I believe the new life in Christ holds the answers to all life’s questions. Sometimes when I see people struggle to find meaning and purpose in life I feel so frustrated. More so when it’s christians. I think it’s possible to live as a christian and never receive, explore and accept our new life in Christ. Jesus don’t just want to help us with our lives, He invites us to live the most fulfilling, and rewarding life possible.

Why don’t give it a go, stop try to live your life by yourself. Stop try and struggle to be a christian. Start living your God given new life in Christ and you will find out who you are and what to live for. Life is awesome, with all it’s ups and downs. But in Christ it all has a purpose.

Jesus is inviting us today to live a new and better life in Him, the best part of it is that you don’t have to deserve it. Just receive it as a gift from Him who loves you and has a great plan for your life!

In Christ!

Andreas
